With the development of technology, we have more and more choices for material, so what’s the reason for using TPU?
TPU film is a kind of non-toxic and environmentally friendly polymer elastomer film with the characteristics of high strength, wear resistance, good elasticity, weather resistance, environmental protection, recycling, and decomposition. TPU films are mainly produced by extrusion, Calendering, and blow molding processes.
Due to the characteristics of the molecular structure of polyurethane, people can change its elasticity, hardness, and hydrophilicity by adjusting the proportion of polyurethane block components, which is very suitable for hot pressing, high cycle, sewing, or bonding with the binder. In addition, this material can also be inked, printed, vacuum or high-cycle pressed into a three-dimensional effect.
The products are widely used in many fields, such as medical and health, shoe materials, bag materials, sports equipment, automobile industry, ready-made clothing, gloves, blow products, high-grade textile fabrics, and so on. It is the biggest breakthrough in the application of new encircling materials as waterproof and breathable fabrics. It continues the excellent physical properties of TPU and overcomes many defects of PVC and PU. It not only has most of the characteristics of rubber and ordinary plastics but also has excellent comprehensive physical and chemical properties, so it is also called future material and has a wide range of applications.
The European Union has issued a decree banning the import of PU products in 2016. TPU, as a substitute for PVC, PU, PP, PE, and PET, is increasingly welcomed by people because of its superior performance and environmental protection concept. It will be the basic material for industrial and livelihood products in the future. TPU can become a substitute where PVC, PU, PP, PE, and PET are used.
